Burma: after the vote, time for choices

Democracy is democracy.

In a democracy the people is sovereign.

The Burmese people have decided. On  November 8^th general election, they overwhelmingly chose the leader of the country: Aung San Suu Kyi.

Democracy cannot be an obstacle run.

The 2008 Constitution does not allow Aung San Suu Kyi to be elected as President. A Constitution that survives the regime that produced it.

On March 17th, the procedure will be initiated to elect the new head of government, the President.

The time to decide is now. Respecting  the will of the people is the first choice of politics, the first act of national reconciliation.

Aung San Suu Kyi President of Burma in the name of the Burmese people. This is democracy.

It is the time of democracy bravery. The one who will have this bravery will do the good of the nation.

Unity, progress, peace: only  democracy can assure them.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a guarantee of democracy, unity, progress, peace for Myanmar.

After independence in the twentieth century, the twenty-first century is the time of democracy for Burma.

Aung San Aung San Suu Kyi, by the will of the people.

This is the destiny of Burma, the world and history know this and hope this.
