Myanmar, Sandra Zampa and Albertina Soliani: we renew our support to the new Parliament | Associazione per l'Amicizia Italia-Birmania Giuseppe Malpeli

“Today in Myanmar the new parliament in the lower house was established, and Wednesday the upper house will follow. The 255 NLD deputies entered led by Aung San Suu Kyi with the orange dress of their party, which in recent years has become the symbol of resistance, of non-violent struggle, of democratic victory. The military group appeared, as it is, much reduced.”
This is a statement of Democratic Party MP Sandra Zampa, President of the Parliamentary Association “Friends of Burma”, and Albertina Soliani, former president of the Association.

They add: “On this day we renew our commitment by the side of Burma to support the democratic development and the process of national reconciliation. The Parliamentary Association “Friends of Burma” supports the new Parliament of Myanmar to develop in all fields the friendship between Italy and Burma, as Aung San Suu Kyi recently wrote to us.”
