Albertina Soliani: il videomessaggio per Aung San Suu Kyi
«Stiamo vivendo insieme al popolo birmano e a Aung San Suu Kyi in questi giorni e in queste ore. Sappiamo che in questo momento sono processati a Naypyidaw per alto tradimento. Si è saputo che sia A. sia il Presidente della Repubblica Win Myint sono condannati a una quindicina di giorni di arresti domiciliari nelle loro case di Yangon; verrebbero quindi trasferiti da Naypyidaw, il centro del potere, e portati nelle loro dimore. Il processo per alto tradimento prevede da 20 anni di prigione alla pena di morte. Pare anche che questi interventi dei militari vogliano provocare l’uscita della gente per strada, per potere poi inscenare una repressione. Sappiamo che nessuno sta uscendo di casa: una specie di arresti domiciliari in tutta la Birmania. Il destino loro, e il nostro destino con loro, dipende molto adesso dal popolo birmano e dalla comunità internazionale.
Aung San Suu Kyi ci sta dimostrando con la sua vita come si deve avere dignità e integrità. In questo momento noi vogliamo dire a tutto il mondo che la loro libertà è la nostra libertà. Che la democrazia del Myanmar è la nostra democrazia. E che questa generazione all’iniizio del XXI secolo deve vedere bene e capire quali sono le sfide perché è del futuro dell’umanità che siamo responsabili. Così hanno fatto i resistenti alla metà del secolo scorso quando si trattava di cambiare il corso della storia. Il corso della storia in Myanmar si può cambiare e si può sognare; la politica del “giardino coltivato” che sta nel discorso elettorale di Aung San Suu Kyi di qualche mese fa. Su quel giardino è arrivata adesso la tempesta. Ricostruiremo il giardino, insieme».
“We are living together with the Burmese people and Aung San Suu Kyi in these days and hours. We know that they are currently being tried in Naypyidaw for high treason. It is known that both A. and the President of the Republic Win Myint are sentenced to a fortnight of house arrest in their homes in Yangon; they would then be transferred from Naypyidaw, the center of power, and taken to their abodes. The trial for high treason includes 20 years in prison to the death penalty. It also seems that these military interventions want to provoke the exit of people on the street, in order to then be able to stage a repression. We know that no one is leaving the house: a kind of house arrest throughout Burma. Their fate, and our fate with them, now depends very much on the Burmese people and the international community.
Aung San Suu Kyi is showing us with his life how to have dignity and integrity. Right now we want to tell the whole world that their freedom is our freedom. That Myanmar democracy is our democracy. And that this generation at the beginning of the 21st century must see well and understand what the challenges are because it is the future of humanity that we are responsible for. So did the resisters in the middle of the last century when it came to changing the course of history. The course of history in Myanmar can be changed and dreamed of; the policy of the “cultivated garden” that is in Aung San Suu Kyi’s election speech a few months ago. The storm has now come to that garden. We will rebuild the garden, together ».

grazie Albertina. Spero che il tuo messaggio possa arrivare anche in Myanmar. Tutte le democrazie del mondo dovrebbero insorgere unite contro chi ne calpesta una. Darebbero prova della loro grande forza. La democrazia è una sola e , come un filo, unisce tutti i popoli. Le dittature sono tante e reprimono ciascuna un solo paese
